Over 50 new undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are now available to international students studying at the University of Sussex International Study Centre (ISC), as part of enhanced International Foundation Year and Pre-Masters Programmes developed by international education provider Study Group.

The new undergraduate degrees available to international students progressing from the ISC include BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Robotics, BA History and Politics, and BA Art History. New Masters include MA Education, MA Philosophy, MA Art History and LLM Criminal Law and Criminology.

The enhanced programmes also enable international students to change their final degree progression plans during the first semester. To facilitate these changes, existing International Foundation Year and Pre-Masters Programmes have been streamlined.

“The enhanced programmes are more closely aligned with undergraduate and postgraduate study at the University where students choose electives and personalise their degree structure and content. These programmes will deliver a more consistent experience for ISC students”, says Vaughan Leyshon, Network Director at Study Group. “We’re confident in these changes, and we’ll be closely monitoring student feedback to see how we can make further improvements.”

Sally Johnson, International Marketing Manager at Study Group explains: “Focus groups with ISC Foundation and Pre-Masters alumni revealed a strong preference for flexibility. Students wanted to be able to choose the areas of interest and focus on the specialist subjects they found interesting. The Pre-Masters students also liked the focus on careers, critical reading and research skills.

“We attract and recruit students from over 100 different countries, all with different educational backgrounds and learning styles. The enhanced programmes mean we are ever more responsive to their needs, while further opening up access to the vast range of University of Sussex Degree offerings.”
